The University of Évora, through its Renewable Energies Chair, and the Spanish Association of Solar Energy (AEDES) organize the XIX Iberian Congress and XV Ibero-American Congress on Solar Energy (CIES’24) in Évora from June 19 to 21, 2024.

This is an event that aims to ensure the continuity of a forum for technical and scientific discussion in the field of Energy Transition.

We are currently experiencing a moment of climate urgency that dominates the global, national and regional political and media agenda, and therefore, this congress stands out as a offer of knowledge that positions solar energy as one of the pillars in the Energy Transition and promotes technical and scientific discussion in this field.

With alternating organization between Portugal and Spain since 1982, it is the most important and traditional congress in the field of solar energy, existing in Portuguese and Spanish languages. In 15 of its 19 editions, it has also expanded its influence to the Ibero-American community.

The presidency of the event is held by Pedro Horta from the University of Évora, with Andreu Moià from AEDES serving as the vice-president.
