Inauguration of photovoltaic installations in Calatayud as part of the Jalon project

On October 23, several photovoltaic installations were inaugurated in Calatayud as part of the JALON project, marking a significant step toward sustainable energy in the region. The day’s events began at the AMIBIL center, an organization dedicated to supporting people with intellectual disabilities, showcasing how social infrastructure can innovatively integrate renewable energy.

The inauguration ceremony at AMIBIL was attended by Simona Dragan, City Councilor for Social Services, representing the Calatayud City Council; José Ignacio Marcuello, president of the Calatayud region, along with vice president José Félix Lajusticia; and Lucrecia Jurado, director-general of AMIBIL, accompanied by José Daniel Arias, president and treasurer of the organization.

After the AMIBIL event, the inauguration continued in the municipalities of Munébrega and Valtorres. In Munébrega, the event was led by Cherry World’s manager, Iván Carrasco, alongside the local mayor, José Félix Lajusticia. In Valtorres, Mayor Noelia Sánchez hosted the ceremony, strengthening the commitment of local communities to the energy transition.

The JALON project aims to implement replicable models of community energy across Europe, promoting energy autonomy, carbon footprint reduction, and community engagement in sustainable initiatives. This event thus marks an important milestone in expanding renewable energy infrastructure within the Calatayud region, reinforcing the commitment to a greener, sustainable future.
